There was once an Irish milkman whose name was Mick McGill,
Who came across a Bible which showed to him God's will.
He read and read and read again, until the Light he saw
Then bade farewell to Pope and Priest and all the Romish law.

But the Parish Priest soon heard of this and down to Mick he sped.
"I hear you read the Bible, Sir." is what his Reverence said.
"And sure 'tis true now," Mick replied "I'll tell the truth to thee,
I found the precious Lamb of God, His Blood hath made me free."

The Priest with angry voice replied, "Oh! thou presumptmous fool.
Thou hast a heretic become of hated Protestant school.
Give me this Book, read It no more; no ignorant man can know
Not even we who are the Priests can tell where we will go!"

"But your Reverence must reason give why I give up the Book
And why on such a holy page I never more must look.
For as I read the Book alone the Book Itself reads me,
And I in It's pages comfort find when I in trouble be."

The Priest replied, "The Book Itself has placed it on record,
'Like as young babes we should desire the sincere milk of the Word'
And you, and ignorant man, yea, babe on the true church should rely
And take the milk she offers you and learn to grow thereby."

"Be easy now then." Mick replied, as high he raised his brow;
"I once took ill and a neighbor got to watch and milk my cow.
And good gracious, what do you think he did?
As sure as the Queen wears silk
If he didn't steal half the sincere and water down my milk!

From that I learned a lesson, and as the Book is upon my shelf
I'll take and read It daily and I'll get the Word myself.
Lest you do as my neighbor did, and the Word should water down
And keep the cream all to yourself and never make a sound!"

"You1re not so ignorant after all," the Parish Priest replied;
"But listen to my last advice," as Mick he fully eyed.
"Just keep the Book, read It yourself....but let none living know;
Lest they might learn as you have done and from our church should go!"

"Ah! no, bedad then," Mick replied: "The same would selfish be;
I found the way of Truth and Life and I must let it go free.
I through the Book Salvation found, and no in atter when nor where
I to my neighbors all around - THE TRUTH OF GOD DECLARE!"

If you're a Roman Catholic reading this and see your need of biblical salvation, please read the following section below on how you can be saved and know it.

1 John 5:13 says: These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life ... Wouldn't you you like to be able to lie down tonight and go to sleep knowing that if you died during the night you would be, "absent from the body and present with the Lord" 2 Cor. 5:8? The way to be sure of salvation is to:

1. You must see yourself a lost sinner, ... For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; Romans 3:23
because you are according to the bible, ... dead in tresspasses and sins; walk according to the course of this world; you have the ... spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience; The way you live now is ... in the lust of our flesh; you are one of the ... by nature the children of wrath; Ephesians chapter 2.

2. If the Holy Spirit has convicted you of your self-righteousness, are you willing to turn from your sins to the only one that never sinned? Your Pope sins, your Priest sins and you commit sins! The only way to get forgiven of your sins is a blood atonement and the unbloody sacrifice the Roman Catholic Church's Mass won't do it. The only way is through the blood the Lord Jesus Christ shed for you and that is included in the Gospel.  ... I declare unto you the gospel ... how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 1 Corinthians 15:1-4

3. Biblical Salvation is a free gift of God, ... the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. There is NO works involved in it. For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

4. Are you ready to be saved and know it? The following verses will show you exactly how to be saved. My comments are in "()" parentheses.

That if thou (put your name here) shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart (NOT just your head) that God hath raised him from the dead, (this is the gospel as in number 2, 1 Corinthians 15:1-4) thou shalt be saved. For with the heart (NOT just your head) man believeth unto righteousness; (righeousness is sinlessness as far as God is concerned) and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. (after you are saved, you just tell someone) For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: (all are saved one way now, John 14:6) for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever (put your name here) shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:9-13(will you call upon the Lord right now and ask him to save you the best way you know how? Sincerely tell Him that you know you are a lost sinner, you realize your church can't save you and ask the Lord to save you right now.

Remember 1 John 5:13 says: These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life ... If you were sincere when you asked the Lord to save you, then Romans 10:14 says ...How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed?
